Funerary Finale

For some fun, visit Pushin Daisies, a mortuary novelty shop.

Flush your remains? Alkaline Hydrolisis is the method which turns the body into a brownish, syrupy liquid by dissolving them in lye. The liquid has the consistency of motor oil and smells strongly of ammonia, but is sterile and can be poured down the drain.

Why not go out with a bang? Several companies incorporate cremated ashes into fireworks for a farewell fireworks display. Click here!  Or Click Here!

I like the fireworks option. Isn't that how Hunter S. Thompson went out?

I've heard of the spirit tree option, and I actually think that's a really nice idea!

The "Tear Bottles" are fascinating.

Fascinating! Thanks for sharing.. the liquifying yourself one made me cringe.. and how environmentally friendly is lye? Ick! lol

I kind of like the tree one.. going out with a bang.. makes me wonder if I should be steering way clear of fireworks going forward.. wouldn't want someone's ashes to drop on me.

Loved this!! thanks!

I just love coming over here to find out the most weird and wacky way to go. Such fun! I think that's what's so great about it, you have such a cheery view of death :) Very refreshing. Keep up the good work!

The tear bottles remind of this twilight zone like show I saw ages ago, this woman was over emotional and this guy gathered her tears, the more tears the less emotional, she found this room he had with all these bottles, of course full of tears from other women, she got jealous and smashed them all, all I can remember was that there was a lot of screeching and wailing after that.
