A Charity Auction

I’d like to introduce to you, Miss Rosalynn.

Miss Rosalynn came into being thanks to the combined efforts of several talented members of the group Prim and Whimsy GirLs. Miss Rosalynn traveled across the country twice before she was ready to make her debut.

Miss Rosalynn’s  life started in the apt hands of Annie of Chickadee Primitives.  Wanting to keep her design simple, Annie made the body from muslin giving Miss Rosalynn curled boots and leaf hands. After stuffing her quite nicely, Annie placed Miss Rosalynn in the box so she might begin her travels. Miss Rosalynn dreamt of the day she would wear petals and a pretty dress.

Sheryl of Mother’s Dream Artworks was the next stop. While there, Sheryl worked her magic and hand sculpted a lovely face for Miss Rosalynn. Sheryl then painted Miss Rosalynn’s face, hands, and feet. And surrounded her face with beautiful petals. Miss Rosalynn was beginning to blossom.

The last stop of Miss Rosalynn’s journey was Susan of Prim and Proper Folks. After consulting with Miss Rosalynn, Susan sewed a beautiful eyelet dress (which has been aged just enough) with ribbon trim along the hemline and ruffled sleeves. She also has a long overdress from green floral pattern with a full gathered skirt, trimmed in ivory ribbon and secured above the waist with a button.

And to set off her beautiful attire, Miss Rosalynn is wearing a gorgeous rose necklace designed by Dorothy of Big Time Rock Show. This polymer necklace is hand painted and contains a one carat white Topaz gem as well as a freshwater pearl. Maybe Miss Rosalynn will let her owner borrow it from time to time.

This is a charity auction with the proceeds going to the charity United Through Reading. United Through Reading is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public benefit organization. Their mission is to unite families facing physical separation by facilitating the bonding experience of reading aloud together. Click here to go Miss Rosalynn's eBay listing!

Ghoulishly Great Give-away Goodies!

I recently received the most Ghoulishly Great Give-away Goodies in the mail from Wendy the (VERY) Good Witch of The Halloween Tree. She had a give-away and I was one of the fortunate winners. WooHoo!!  And when I say fortunate, I really mean FORTUNATE! She had such glorious give-away goodies, but I was hoping I would win The Moon-Rays CD, Swingin' at the Seance.

And what do you think I found in the package that came my way? The CD that I had been hoping to win! The Moon-Rays play 'Swing' music - you know the music from the 1940's. But this album (and many more of theirs) is Halloween music. I love Swing music. And I love Halloween. Now put the two together and I am in total BLISS!

T*H*A*N*K  Y*O*U   Wendy!!!!

Wendy is a very creative person and she creates the most wonderful tags, ornaments and prints (you really need to visit her Etsy shop - click here! ). She also included the cutest tag and she did the CD's cover and design layout. Very cool! Now let's listen to Swingin' at the Seance!

A Summer Romance

As I lay on my bed, thinking about you, I feel this strong urge to grab you and squeeze you, because I can't forget last night.  You came to me unexpectedly during the calm and balmy night, and what happened in my bed still leaves a tingling sensation in me.

You appeared from no where and shamelessly, without any reservations, you laid on my naked body...you sensed my  indifference, so you applied your hungry mouth to me without any guilt or humiliation, and you drove me near crazy while you drained me.  Finally, I drifted off to sleep.

Today when I awoke, you were gone, I searched for you but to no avail, only the sheets bore witness to last night's events.  My body still bears faint marks of your enthusiastic ravishing, making it all the more difficult to forget you.

Tonight, I will remain awake,  waiting for you.........you damn mosquito!

Wedding Pics

I would like to thank everyone for all the input regarding my clothes for the recent wedding of my oldest son. I decided on pants with a casual eyelet blouse and vest. Most comfy! Especially when you're carrying a sleepy two year old!
Ans here are some shots from the wedding.

Vampire Causes Car Crash

Date : June 29, 2010
Location : Mesa County, Colorado

A woman told state troopers she was fleeing a vampire when she ran her sport-utility vehicle into a canal in Mesa County Sunday night, KKCO television station in Grand Junction reported.
The woman, whose name was not released, told a trooper she was traveling alone about 9:25 p.m. on a dirt road near Fruita when she came upon the vampire, threw her vehicle in reverse and ran off the road. The SUV came to rest on its passenger side.
She was not injured, and since neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected she was not charged, according to the State Patrol.

The Carillon

carillon is a musical instrument that is usually housed in a free-standing bell tower, or the belfry of a church or other municipal building. The instrument consists of at least 23 cast bronze cup-shaped bells, which are played serially to play a melody, or sounded together to play a chord. A carillon is played by striking a keyboard called a "baton" with the fists and by pressing the keys of a pedal keyboard with the feet. The keys mechanically activate levers and wires that connect to metal clappers that strike the bells, allowing the performer, the carillonneur, to vary the intensity of the note according to the force applied to the key.
