So, I am leaving this award for all you classy, stylish bloggers out there. Just leave me a comment if you pick up the award. That way we can all come for a visit. (Nothing like inviting ourselves over!)

Ophiuchus -- WTF??? I don't care what anyone says, I'm sticking with the old astrological symbols and dates.
Congrats on the award, style maven.
Jeanne, I saw this, but they are overlooking the obvious. .It is where the planets and stars were aligned when you were born that imprints on you. .granted, they are talking about what sign you should be reading in those daily horoscopes, but to say that you are suddenly a different sign because of the earth's wobbly rotation really has nothing to do with it, unless you were born, say . .yesterday! lol
What one would really need to do, is to find out the exact alignment on the date and time you were born, then go by that sign. .there are numerous websites (astrological birth chart generators) that can figure that out for you. If you are skeptical as to their reliability, use several of them to see what they come up with.
Years ago, I had my chart done, and while I was born on the Virgo side of the cusp, she told me that as I got older, because of my moon sign, and rising, that I would drop many of the Virgo traits, and pick up more of the Libra ones. .at the time, I took it with a grain of salt, but a few years ago, I remembered that charting, and realized that yes indeed, she was right! (ask my hubby how I have to weight all viewpoints back and forth, and how I try to keep everything in balance. .lol)
But now with the changes in the wheel, I'm smack dab in the middle of Virgo. .so unless they change the characteristics of each sign, I don't fit the sign! See what I mean?
And I do hate to tell you, but there was a thirteenth sign that was dropped. .but that was before you were born, so again, I'd go by where the planets & stars were aligned when you were born. .a Style Maven by any other name, is still a. . .HUGE congrat on the award! It is a classy one, that you deserve!!
And I slip just back into Scorpio. This is interesting because I have Scorpio rising, and a neighbour I'd never spoken to once stopped me and asked whether I was a Scorpio. Apparently she'd been watching me and decided I behaved like one. I do have all the Scorpio negative traits, so maybe.
I actually find all the fuss about the zodiac signs to be quite funny. Anyone that has studied astronomy has always known that the sun travels through 13 different constellations, always has. The astrologers just chose to ignore that fact I guess making 12 signs to correspond to the 12 months or something. I would say if you follow horoscopes Suzie has it right and you should go with the alignment on the date of your birth.
I find it funny how most people are digging and refusing to give up their sign...almost as if it is an appendage or something. We seem to be quite attached...ha! This whole topic, although rather tongue in cheek for me...has been a lot of fun. I didn't realize how many Virgos read my blog. And I respect how you don't seem completely opposed to trying the Ophiuchus on for size....tee hee! You are a true Zodiac pioneer Jeanne! :o)
Have a great weekend!

Suzie & ptrmom - I totally agree with you both. But for many people, those who do not know or cannot determine where the stars and planets were at the time of their birth, determining the Zodiac sign by birth date was the only way.
Wendy, Not really sure I am ready to be labeled a pioneer. I need to find out more about this Ophiuchus, first.
Yayyy, Jeannie... most definitely a "stylin' blogger" ;) I've read a lot about this new astrological shift and it's really interesting all the controversy about it. Some people say that only people born after 2009 have the new signs, etc...And other astrologers are in arms about this, lol..I'll have to blog about this. Do you like your "new sign"? I also eat my spinach raw, can't stand it when it's slimy. I love it in a salad with crumbled bleu cheese, pomagranite seeds and pecans. Yummmy :)
