Crooked Forest of Gryfino

Do you remember this nursery rhyme ~
There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all live together in a little crooked house.
Well, this is the forest that the crooked house may have been located in.

Around four hundred trees in this forest near Gryfino, Poland have been formed with a 90° horizontal bend in it's trunk before rising vertically again. The trees are believed to be about eighty years old and although there is no explanation for this freak of nature one widely held belief is that the trees were shaped this way by human hands (possibly by carpenters wanting to use the wood for furniture making). Or maybe the Forest Fae had a wee hand in their making....

What an unusual forest. The trees look like you could sit on them and just ride off into the sunset.

WOW! That is SO cool! I have been away trying to deal with life's curveballs while getting my kid's off to their new school! Life has been hectic. Hope all is well with you! I read that you are getting packed up for a move. Packing is one of those chores that I really LOATHE! I'm a horrible packer. But you're right, it will be like opening up new presents when you finally get to see what's in those boxes again...ha! Good luck with the move!
