Dinner Conversation

I have three pictures hanging in the dining room. They were gifts for Hubby & I and we have enjoyed  pondering their true meanings. The three images are silk screened on fabric and they came from Honduras. People who come to visit have always liked to speculate on what the images represent. I would love to hear your thoughts on what you think they're doing!

The first image has this label on the back of the picture,"Stella 'D' Full figure glyph 736A.D. Copan, Honduras"

The second image has this label, "Old Sun God, Lord of the Night Stela D., 736 A.D. Copan, Honduras"

The third image's label, "Human and Parrot, full figure glyph, 736A.D. Copan, Honduras"

Some folks think that the first figure is singing for his supper or maybe he is singing a love song.
The second figure is more puzzling. No one is quite sure what he is carrying in his basket. Whatever it is it appears to be heavy.
The last figure is carrying a bird. The label says parrot but that's an awful big parrot! Perhaps a condor? Or maybe a thunderbird.
Leave a comment and let me know what you see!

Could they (especially the last two) be allusions to shape-shifting or other shamanic magic?

I have to admit that I had not thought of that possibility. They could very well be alluding to a shamanic experience in some way. Thanks!

It's not unusual for animals to be portrayed as far larger than humans to emphasize the power of nature, so that could very well be a parrot. Following that theme, the basket could be heavy because the task is more important than the person doing the work.
