Violet's boyfriend Buck is also a visitor. This is mating season for deer so we all steer clear of the couple. Maybe we'll have babies come visit in the Spring.....

Her name is Violet because she munches on the Violas which grow in the back.

As many of you Readers know, we have game cameras up at our place in the mountains. And at this time of year babies are every where. We have a small herd of deer who travel through on occasion. It has been the same deer for the last 3 years - the oldest doe has no tail so we are able to recognize her on the game camera. Well a few weeks ago, that same doe (we call her Jane - get it? Jane Doe) brought a younger doe and a fawn across the trail camera's view. And at the end of the video clip, it was as if Mama or maybe Grandma Jane told the fawn to go back and look in the camera.
