Of Paint, Pixies and Epiphanies ~ Part 3

Hubby is heading back to school this Spring for his final semester at the local community college even though he has already received his degree in Computer Geekery. Hubby will be taking courses to complete his certification in several Computer Specialties, one of which is Computer Forensics. His graduation ceremony will be in May and then he will be heading back to Colorado for work (our sons live there). If I am able to locate a rental property by that time, then I will be heading back with him. We're planning on putting our house up For Sale in March. Anyone interested??

So many things to hope for....that Hubby finds a good job. That I'm able to find a place to rent that is pet friendly. And that our house sells quickly (and we get a decent price for it). Once our house sells then we can begin looking for a house to buy.

The last two years have been a test in patience and perseverance. We have learned to be frugal and appreciate the everyday joys that have come our way. We've also learned to have Faith in the Universe that everything would work out.
Optimism has not always been our friend. And there have been times when the dark clouds loomed and threatened to overwhelm. But a kind word, an email or a phone call from someone dear would always happen along at the right time to push the clouds away and bring back the sun.

And speaking of sun.... I am looking forward to getting back to Colorado where the Winter's are sunny. I have missed the sunshine that the state of Colorado basks in. Winter's here in the South have a tendency to be cloudy. Too cloudy for my tastes! And I have to admit that I do miss seeing the snow. And there is snow in them thar hills of Colorado in the winter! I miss the silence that can be heard in a snowfall. I miss the beauty of a landscape draped in white.

So, I am warning you now. I may get a bit introspective over the next few months - pondering this strange journey we've had living in the South.

And sometime in the not so distant future, I will be having a giveaway. I see that I am approaching the number 300. That's 300 people who have chosen to join me in this strange and wonderful corner of Blogland. And I have enjoyed getting to know you all!

300 Friendly Folks stopping by for visits ..... Boy, that's sure a lot of muffins (and crumbs!) and tea!

  2. I wish you the best with your move and new adventure. I too will be moving. From the Bay Area in CA to Nevada sometime during the summer. We want to buy a house and unless you are making 200K or have some type of inheritance from a billionaire uncle it's really hard to even buy a decent condo out here. I'm a little scared but, it's for the best. Congrats on your upcoming 300 too! I look forward to the giveaway.

  4. Hang in there, Jeanne. I have a feeling that this year is going to be an exciting year with new doors opening. It is "the Year of the Cat" you know ;) A little altar to the Goddess Hestia might be helpful and asking her to find the perfect little living space esp. for Gomez. Just take one day at time, know that you have people who love and support you. I am so excited about your upcoming giveaway :) Congrats. for you reaching so many readers. I'm not at all surprised. And remember also you won the acorn jewelry for a reason. Strength, perseverance, and deep roots. Hugs and blessings.

  5. oh moving... one of the most stressful things anyone can do and also exciting too. New start, new location, surroundings. I hope that your move is filled more with the latter than the former (and I hope that I've gotten that right because I'm really not wishing you stress in your move)

  6. Don't forget to 'release' your house when you put it up for sale. Tell the house thank you for letting you and your hubby live there, that you enjoyed your time, etc. Then tell the house you want a new family to love the house. Ask the house for help in finding a buyer. This always works!

  7. Thank You for all the well wishes!! While moving can be stressful, I am looking forward to it. I won't get into this now - I'll save it for a later post.

FreeDragon - Thank You for your words! The whole time I have been working on the house, I have been speaking with it. Letting it know that it is time for us to move on and time for another family to take over and enjoy its company. I have been trying to imbue it with a lot of positive energy to attract a buyer.

  8. Happy New Year Jeanne! I've missed following your blog the last few months. I know change is a natural state of life...but I am just not one who really embraces it. I always manage to eventually adapt, but it's never easy for me. It seems to raise my stress levels, even when the change is good. There is something about a comfortable consistency that makes me content and safe. Yet unfortunately...that is not how life cycles. So I've had to accommodate to many big changes in life over the last 10 years. And all I can offer, is that if I can do it, probably anyone can, ha!

I'm from the South and I know how it can be here. The winters are dreary. Probably why I get the SAD every winter. I will send you many positive thoughts that this will be good year for you and your family. Never lose faith, and try to hang tough and know that one thing always leads to another for a reason. And being introspective is a good thing. :o)
