Yes, morbid is exactly right! Her work has always creeped me out. Once the Winnipeg Art Gallery set up a special display showing how her process works. They set up a plexiglass display booth with a couple of objects and real bees inside it -- the bees could come and go to the outdoors through a special portal connecting the booth to the outer wall. You could watch the bees slowly cover the objects inside the booth with honeycomb over the course of a few weeks.
