Way back in the old days, children would go outside to play. They would spend hours playing, running, jumping, climbing trees, laying in the grass imagining shapes in the clouds overhead.
Today, with concrete jungles, apartment buildings and other man-made structures, children are not able to connect with Mother Nature. Adults no longer connect with their Earth Mother. This lack of connection may be the cause of many of today's maladies.
Physically connecting with our Earth Mother is called Earthing. And it is becoming more and more popular with mainstream medicine.
Earthing is the physical contact with the Earth. Most specifically, the transference of electrons from the ground to the skin. The increased number of electrons brings about a multitude of health benefits - improved sleep, lowers stress, lower blood pressure, reduces pain.
So on this beautiful Spring day, reconnect with your Mother and reap the benefits.

Yesterday we had a wind and dust storm, hopefully today will treat us better!
ReplyDeleteI read about that. There are moss rugs for the shower, pillows and matts. It is amazing though how I feel energized when in contact with nature.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this, it is so true. Walking or running around on bare grass always transports me back to being a child. We are living in an era of so much technology, it is crucial to go outside when you are at work and just be. Plus it's harder to run into faeries at the copy machine. ;)
ReplyDeleteAh, I love this, what a great concept. I too was a child who stayed outside from the wee mornings hours until the lightning bugs retired....this past weekend was lovely and my husband and I were out in it, just working the yard...our daughter, lying in the sun....our son. Uh, playing video games. Okay, so 3 outta 4 a'int bad, right?
ReplyDeleteoh wait! We did get said son to mow the lawn....that's gotta count for something!
